Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) highlighted the incubating and supportive environment it provides to companies operating in the health sector in addition to the most prominent emerging opportunities and growth prospects available to these companies, during its participation in Arab Health 2021, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Among the various competitive, enabling features the Free Zone offers to medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are a range of incentives, facilities and means of support that help them achieve growth and expand and enhance their presence both locally and regionally. As a result, AFZ is home to more than 228 healthcare companies and related services today. Further reflecting its reputation as one of the preferred destinations by healthcare companies, the Free Zone recorded a 34 per cent growth in the number of new company registrations in Q1 2021, compared to the same period last year.
H.E. Engineer Ali AlSuwaidi, Director General of Ajman Free Zone, underlined the importance of keeping pace with the evolving trends in the health sector and supporting companies operating in this sector as healthcare is one of the priority sectors in the UAE. Besides, the sector plays a vital role in enhancing the diversity and flexibility of the national economy. AlSuwaidi added that the development of health infrastructure and its array of global healthcare providers are factors that enhance the country's attractiveness before foreign investments and companies.
